I took the test last weekend and passed!!!I didnt take any classes I just studied by myself. This book covers everything you need to know for the test VERY well EXCEPT math. If you want to do well on your PTCB then I would recommend getting a calculations book in addition to this. This book explains everything in simple terms....but with math you need to know was much as possible. If you get a calculations book you will be all set. Although it didn't cover math in detail I think this book covers everything that other books do not. Also this book has CLEARLY tells you the difference between retail and hospital pharmacy....it has a separate chapter for both. If you are studying for the test in general you should get a get a review book and a calculations book because math in general is a huge part of the PTCB.Alot of review books are a good REVIEW of whats to be expected on the exam but you would need to get a calculations book anyway.

When I finished the online course I was taking I just wanted another view from a different author.....a different text book to review for the exam. The pharmacology unit in this book is very good and the review questions and exams at the end of book are helpful but the Calculation unit does not do the job.....and you need a lot of practice with calculations for the exam. I passed the exam last week & feel I could have passed with the books I received from the course. If you need an additional book to help you review for calculations I would suggest The Pharmacy Technician Workbook & Certification Review, 4th Edition.
